Yazmin said: “I have had to keep it a secret. I wasn’t supposed to tell people but I might have told a few people! I loved telling my closest family and seeing their reaction.

“We’re all very different and that’s kind of where the name STAND UNIQU3 comes from.

“Representing the UK at Junior Eurovision is something I never thought I would do. It is the biggest honour I could ever ask for and I am so happy and proud that me and the girls have got the chance to do it. We’re going to do it the best we can.”

Yazmin’s mother Marybeth also added: “I am so proud of Yazmin, she has worked so hard. Her talent just amazes me. The girls she is working with are fabulous and together they make such an amazing trio. I cannot wait to watch their journey. Well done girls!”

The trio, who are the first group to represent the UK at Junior Eurovision, will perform a song named Back To Life, which has been written by songwriters Sky Adams, Jakke Erixson and Jack Hawitt who have written for huge artists such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Derulo.

Given that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 theme is Heroes, STAND UNIQU3’s song focuses on facing your fears.

In the run up to the contest, STAND UNIQU3 will be performing their track on the likes of Blue Peter, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two and BBC Children In Need.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023, is set to take place on Sunday, November 26 in Nice, France and will be televised on BBC Two, CBBC and BBCiPlayer at 3pm.
