A young singer from Newcastle is set to represent the United Kingdom at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Yazmin, aged 12, who also appeared on The Voice Kids on ITV earlier this year, was chosen alongside two other girls named Hayla and Maisie, to form a brand-new girl group named STAND UNIQU3, who have since been announced at the UK act.
Yazmin said: “I have had to keep it a secret. I wasn’t supposed to tell people but I might have told a few people! I loved telling my closest family and seeing their reaction.
“We’re all very different and that’s kind of where the name STAND UNIQU3 comes from.
“Representing the UK at Junior Eurovision is something I never thought I would do. It is the biggest honour I could ever ask for and I am so happy and proud that me and the girls have got the chance to do it. We’re going to do it the best we can.”

The trio, who are the first group to represent the UK at Junior Eurovision, will perform a song named Back To Life, which has been written by songwriters Sky Adams, Jakke Erixson and Jack Hawitt who have written for huge artists such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Derulo.
