Northern Pride announce exciting plans and performances for 2024

Plans for Northern Pride 2024 are already underway, with the iconic LGBTQ+ celebration revealing confirmed performances. 

Drag icons, 90s favourites, top Djs, and leading tribute artists will perform at this year’s jam-packed event.

Talented individuals from the North East who have found national fame are also among the line-up, including recent Drag Race UK winner Ginger Johnson and recent winners of The Voice UK, Jen and Liv.

With a brand-new year comes exciting changes and plans for Northern Pride, including a move from the usual spot at the Town Moor to locations across Newcastle’s city centre.

In collaboration with NE1, Northern Pride will introduce the Northern Pride Arena at Central Park in Times Square for Pride In The City, which is where the top performances and exciting events will be held.

Confirmed events and performances include; ‘Proud Karaoke’ in collaboration with Kroud Karaoke, DJ sets from Hit Radio’s James Barr and Fat Tony, 1990s dance icons Whigfield and Kelly Llorena, Little Mix tribute act Little Fix, as well as local talent showcase The Future Is Queer and much more.

Northern Pride will also welcome back their popular stage takeovers, with Newcastle Mela returning for the third year in a row.

Director of Northern Pride, Ste Dunn, said: “We have put together a really exciting mix of entertainment that will have great appeal to people of all ages.”

Other events hosted across Newcastle include; the Curious Arts Stage at Northern Stage, The Family and Youth Zone at the Assembly Rooms, Sport of Active Life Zone at Northumbria Unversity’s Sport and The Rainbow Village which will host a number of market stalls dotted around Grey’s Monument, Old Eldon Square and Blackett Street.

The Health and Wellbeing Zone which will offer advice and support as well as a mobile sexual health clinic with STI and HIV testing, will be based in Newcastle’s city centre.
