Will Smith took issue with the joke about his wife, walking up onto the Oscars stage to thump Rock before sitting down with a look of fury on his face.

The actor later won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in King Richard and took the moment to apologise to the Academy for his actions.

Rock has said he will not pursue criminal charges.

It's a moment that has got the globe talking and has prompted a response from people even on our doorstep.

On ITV's This Morning on Monday, Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby took calls from viewers who wanted to share their opinions on the matter.

Linda shared a story from her past when she was suffering from alopecia.

She was in a restaurant with her husband when someone made a nasty comment about her appearance.

Linda said: "Look at that woman with the bald patch.

"I got up straight away and said to my husband, I need to go home right now.

"We didn't say anything, but he wanted to make sure I was alright.

"It was a horrible, horrible thing.

"I don't agree with somebody making fun of somebody like that."

Schofield asked Linda if she wished she had confronted the person who said it.

The caller said: "I think we should have done but at the time I was so upset and just needed to get out."
