Ant McPartlin left Britain’s Got Talent viewers in fits of giggles after he took a swipe at Simon Cowell by mocking him for missing his mouth with his straw on Monday night. Ant, 47 from Newcastle, couldn’t resist the opportunity to highlight Simon’s awkward blunder and made a point of mentioning it live on air.

Taking his drink from the desk, Ant then handed it back to Simon whilst holding the straw and said: "Simon there’s your straw. Do you know how to use it? Pop it in your mouth, drink."

Ant and Dec appeared delighted to finally get a chance to make the usually cool, calm and collected TV mogul the subject of the joke whilst Amanda Holden could be heard screaming with laughter.

Thankfully Simon took it on the chin and laughed it off but it didn’t end there. Later on in the show Simon asked: "What was going on with my straw last night?" Ant wasted no time in replying, saying: "You tell us... I don’t think it was the straw, I think it was what’s in the glass..."

Twitter was flooded with tweets and memes after Simon’s blooper and viewers were quick to mock him. One tweeted: “Me after too many spicy margaritas #BGT #simoncowell”. Another added: “What was your most memorable part of the night? #BGT” alongside a slow motion meme of Simon desperately trying to locate his straw.

After last night’s chaotic episode where Amanda was cut off mid-speech and Ant took a tumble minutes into the show, it is not surprising the Geordie duo wanted to add a little humour. However if Bruno Tonioli is in the studio nothing goes as planned. Viewers were shocked to hear the star swearing under his breath when he was forced to take part in an onstage performance.

Sword swallower, Andrew Stanton, shocked viewers with his terrifying performance. Gasps could be heard in the audience as he proceeded to swallow a lit-up sword, before hooking various instruments and pieces of metal through his nose and mouth. Amanda Holden couldn’t decide if she wanted to watch or hide her face. He finished the performance by asking all four judges to sit in a jeep which he pulled along by placing the tow-rope in the sockets of his eyes. Before clambering into the carriage, Bruno could be heard on the microphone saying: "f***ing hell Simon, not again.”

The moment did not go unnoticed, and one fan tweeted: "Bruno just said ‘f***ing hell Simon, not again’," as a second said: "Did he just say f***ing hell?”
