Ant McPartlin was the subject of the joke on Tuesday night  after ‘The Johns’ Boys Male Chorus’ mocked him following  his tumble the previous night. The choir delivered a sensational performance of Harry Styles’ Falling but were pipped to the post by 11-year-old singer Olivia Lynes, who will be performing in the finals.

After the rousing performance choir leader, Aled Phillips, thanked Ant saying: “To be honest Ant, we must thank you for inspiring us” alluding to the presenters ‘fall’ the night before. This left the duo and the audience in fits of laughter with Ant giving the joke his seal of approval by clapping and saying: “Well done mate, you can have that one” before shaking his hand.

The judges stood up to clap and praised the choir for their choice of song and touching performance. Simon began by saying: “Well that was quite beautiful actually. I really really really liked the song. Once again, whatever your name is, sir in the middle, your lead was immaculate. This was, I think, a moment. I think it was a brilliant song choice, you are such a brilliant choir and I loved it.”

Bruno Tonioli, who donned a pale pink suit and gold accessories, added: “I’m telling you, I was in pieces and crying because that is what perfection does to me. It goes beyond criticism. You touch me at an emotional level. Every aspect of your performance, the harmony, the phrasing, the blending of the voices and the emotional impact. Look at me, I’m a mess.”

Alesha Dixon, looking radiant in an asymmetric white ruffle dress, said the choir were like “one heartbeat”.  Amanda Holden added: “I’ve never seen a bunch of men look so proud and stand so tall.”

The choir were overjoyed to make it to the final three alongside Viggo Ven and Olivia Lynes. First to be confirmed for the final was comedy and dance act Viggo, who shared his love for Hi Vis jackets before getting everyone on their feet. Then the choir just missed out on their place in the finals with Simon, Amanda and Alesha all voting for 11 year old singer, Olivia Lynes.

Another added: “Gutted that you didn’t get through. You SO deserved it!”.
