Gaz Beadle‘s wife, Emma McVey, has been rushed to hospital after returning from a family holiday. The model and wife of the Geordie Shore star shared a snap from a hospital bed with her 896,000 Instagram followers on Thursday night (9 May).

It is currently unknown what resulted in her recent hospital trip, but the 30-year-old admitted she was relieved to have been back in the UK while falling ill. Emma wrote: "Did not see myself back in here anytime soon, but here I am. So glad we got back to the UK when we did, so glad I was admitted into hospital when I was."

The couple and their two children, Primrose, three, and Chester, five, flew out to the Greek Island of Corfu last week and enjoyed a sunkissed holiday in a luxury resort. Emma admitted the holiday was much-needed after a recent operation, which terrified her.

The mum-of-two has suffered from a heart defect since birth and had to undergo heart surgery to fix her valve and three holes in her heart in January. Although the surgery went to plan, one of Emma’s lungs collapsed after the surgery. Gaz described the situation as “the hardest thing our family will ever go through”, explaining that the children were “emotional wrecks” as they missed their “mummy”.

Last year, Emma revealed she was suffering from symptoms of ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Speaking about her health conditions, she told The Sun: “The past year has been a whirlwind. I’m still trying to get my head around this latest health issue. Two weeks ago, I had another flare-up — I lost a lot of blood and feel really tired — so I’ve recently had my medication doubled and steroids reintroduced. I did lose a lot of confidence. One health issue after another gets you down, and I was so thin, my face looked gaunt, which made me feel insecure.”

Emma and Gaz started dating in 2016 and were together nine months before splitting. They rekindled their relationship and announced they were expecting their first child in 2017. The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire in 2021.
