Vicky Pattison partners with Walkers as Newcastle Deli is transformed into ‘crisp sandwich shop’

Vicky Pattison has teamed up with Walkers this week as the crisp manufacturer launched its new campaign at a Newcastle-based sandwich shop. The former Geordie Shore star, 34, visited the award-winning Dene’s Deli in the heart of Jesmond, which has been transformed into a ‘Walkers Sandwich Shop’ for one week only.

The campaign comes after two years of playful debate about how the iconic crisps and sandwich duo should be eaten – inside the sandwich or on the side. A unique ‘#Crispin Sandwich Menu’ of unusual crisp sandwich creations has been made  available at the shop.

Reality TV star Vicky took to her Instagram story to share the news with fans on Tuesday (13 June). Speaking to the camera outside, she said: “Hi guys, I hope you’re all okay and enjoying this gorgeous weather. I’m in Newcastle this week with the lovely lot from Walkers, who have taken over seven sandwich shops nationwide to launch their crisp in or crisp out campaign, and once and for all, we are going to determine where crisps really belong. Is it in a sandwich, or is it out? So I’m at Dene’s Deli today up in Newcastle, and they’ve created their very special sandwich, the Kickin’ Chicken, which I can’t wait to try complete with Walkers prawn cocktail crisps, yum.”

In the next clip, she stepped inside and showed fans a shelf that was well stocked with Walkers crisps. Vicky continued: “Oh my god look at this. I’ve literally died and gone to crisp heaven. Dene’s Deli are well and truly prepared for all of you lovely lot coming down and wanting crispies in your sandwiches. I’m so excited. They’ve also got this fab menu showing you all the different sandwiches you can get.”

In another clip, Vicky gave a first glimpse of the Kickin chicken sandwich, which features red onion, rocket, tomato, spicy salami, chorizo, chicken, mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce and prawn cocktail crisps. The 34-year-old later uploaded a snap of herself outside Dene’s Deli and wrote: “Fantastic day at @denesdeli With my @walkers_crisps fam. Huge Thankyou to everyone who came down and tried our fab sarnie!! Everyone was lush, and as always, it made me feel so proud to be from the North East.”
