Police launch appeal to track football fans linked with mass brawl at Gateshead away trip to Brackley Town

Police officers in Northamptonshire are looking to speak to a number of football fans in connection with an incident of violent disorder after a match between Gateshead and Brackley Town.

An appeal has been launched by Northants Police and supported by Northumbria Police to help identify a handful of faces.

The violent outbreak took place between 5 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, April 2 outside St James' Park in Churchill Way, Northampton.

Police say up to 40 people were involved and have released a series of images of people they are hoping to speak to.

The incident took place after Brackley Town beat Gateshead 1-0 in the National League match.

James Armson scored a winner in the 81st minute from the penalty spot in a tight match.
