Police release details of fatal New Year’s Eve crash that left 74 year-old dead

Northumbria Police have released details surrounding a New Year’s Eve Tynemouth collision that left a 74-year-old woman dead.
The incident took place at around 2:25 pm on December 31 on The Broadway.

Hide AdPolice received reports that a white Hyundai had hit a pedestrian in the wheelchair.
The 74-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries and lost her fight for life on Friday, January 14.
The driver of the Hyundai, an 87-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is helping officers with enquiries.
Northumbria Police have now announced a road closure to help assist with their investigations.

Hide AdThe roundabount junction of The Broadway and King Edward Road will be closed between 9:30 am and 11 am tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18.
