Sam Fender announces first 2024 UK concert date at Boardmasters Festival in Cornwall

Boardmasters Festival has announced its third and final headliner for 2024 with Sam Fender making the long journey south for a headline set.

He joins previously announced headliners Stormzy and Chase & Status at the Cornwal festival which will also see acts such as Courteeners, Tom Odell, Becky Hill and more play sets.

The first month of 2024 has already been big for the singer songwriter after he was confirmed to be included in the soundtrack for North East based film Jackdaw.

He has also released a new song with New England based artist Noah Kahan which peaked at number 5 in the UK singles chart last month.

Fender's last live appearance came at Leeds Festival to round off the 2023 festival season where he played a stunnign selection of tracks from his two albums, Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under as well as from various EPs.

This is the first live announcement from Fender for 2024, a year which fans are hoping will be the year he announces and releases a yet unnamed third album.

Fans of the 'Seventeen Going under' are waiting for album three after a merchandise release following the St James Park shows listed 'album three picture disc vinyl', depicting the pair of St James Park Newcastle shows for pre order.

Fender released his debut album 'Hypersonic Missiles' in 2019 with sophomore effort 'Seventeen Going Under' being put to the public in October 2021.

Since the release of the second album he has headlined Finsbury Park and St James Park as well as playing a stunning Pyramid Stage sunset slot at Glastonbury Festival.

Boardmasters festival will take place in Cornwall this summer over the weekend of Friday, August 9 until Sunday, August 11. Tickets for the festival are available to buy online.
