Sam Fender has announced the release of a new single this week.

'Homesick' will be the North Shields singer-songwriter's first release of new music since 2022 when the 'Live fromFinsbury Park' album was released alongside 'Wild Grey Ocean', Fender's latest single.

As part of a teaser for the song released to his social media platforms, Fender confirmed the track is part of a collaboration with Noah Kahan, an American singer-songwriter best known for his album Stick Season, his third full length record which saw him nominated for a Grammy.

Announcing the new single, Fender took to social media saying "'Homesick' with @NoahKahamMusic this Friday. See you then x."

This is the first fans have heard from Fender about his music since his two huge headline shows at St James Park last summer, although an unreleased track from the artist was played on BBC Radio last week. The song is part of a soundtrack for a new film, Jackdaw.

This new song is seemingly unrelated to the Jackdaw project, which is leaving fans excited for the potential of a third album.

Fans of Sam Fender were preparing for new music from the 'Seventeen Going under' star this year after a merchandise release following the St James Park shows listed 'album three picture disc vinyl', depicting the pair of Newcastle shows for pre order.

Fender released his debut album 'Hypersonic Missiles' in 2019 with sophomore effort 'Seventeen Going Under' being put to the public in October 2021.

Since the release of the second album he has headlined Finsbury Park and St James Park as well as playing a stunning Pyramid Stage sunset slot at Glastonbury Festival. He also headlined Reading and Leeds festivals in 2023.
