St. James’ Park becomes Polar Express Experience this Christmas with event hottest festive ticket in Newcastle

The home of Newcastle United will host a Polar Express Experience for one-day only on Tyneside this December.

Grab your ticket, prepare for hot chocolate and take a journey to the North Pole this Christmas as the home of Newcastle United, St. James' Park, turns into a boarding station for the Polar Express.

The hit 2004 film starring Tom Hanks has become a global festive classic since its release in 2004 with an endearing story of a boy who doesn't believe in Christmas. Every December, across the UK, events pop up offering families the chance to experience a trip on the Polar Express themselves.

In the North East, that's happening at the cathedral on the hill this December. For one day only the Polar Express Experience will come to town at St. James' Park. You can find all you need to know here.

Where and when is the Polar Express Experience in Newcastle?

The Polar Express Experience will be in Newcastle on Wednesday, December 21 2022 and will take place at St. James' Park. There are two screenings on the day, a morning showing and an evening showing. The earlier option starts at 10:30 am and the later at 2 pm.

What is happening at the Polar Express Experience in Newcastle?

As you may imagine, getting a whole train into St. James' Park may be a little ambitious, so this experience will need a little imagination. It looks set to be a real kid-pleaser nonetheless. The film will be shown as hot chocolate is served, tickets will be stamped, Santa will visit and every little one will receive their very own 'believe bell'.

How to get tickets for the Polar Express Experience in Newcastle?

Tickets to the Polar Express Experience in Newcastle are £15.50 per child and are sold via Eventbrite. Unfortunately, if you've not purchased one yet, you are too late. The event is so popular that it has already sold out for 2022.
