We built the ultimate UK Eurovision entry from Geordie icons - including NUFC star, Little Mix & Ru Paul queen
We’ve merged Little Mix, an NUFC star, Sam Fender and a Geordie film director to make the ultimate Eurovision star
All eyes in Newcastle will be on Turin this weekend as Eurovision 2022 hits our screens.
For the first time in a very long time, there's reason for the UK to be positive with entry Sam Ryder flying high as second favourite to bring home the Eurovision crown.
It's always a night full of shenanigans with plenty of cringeworth gimmics, sickly pop and a whole lot of drama.
As the UK has found in recent history, sending forward a succesful Eurovision entrant is much easier said than done.
There's a lot that goes into every performance from the vocals to the lyrics and the costume to the staging.
Often, it proves much too much for a single person to handle.
Ahead of Eurovision 2022 this weekend, NewcastleWorld endeavours to build the ultimate UK entry, made up entirely of Geordie icons.
It's always a night full of shenanigans with plenty of cringeworth gimmics, sickly pop and a whole lot of drama.

5. Determination - Joelinton
It takes a lot of perserverance and determination to launch a succeful Eurovision campaign. For that we’ve roped in another honourary Geordie in Brazilian Newcastle United star Joelinton. The 25-year-old has had to remain patient and focused during testing times at St. James’ Park and has come out the other end something of a cult hero. If he was to take his newfound midfield prowess onto the Eurovision stage, the rest of the contient wouldn’t stand a chance.

6. Drama - Rowan Atkinson
There’s always drama just around the corner when Consett’s Rowan Atkinson is around. The actor has famously played roles in Blackadder, Mr Bean and Johnny English, as well as many others. If Atkinson was to embody all the mischief caused by his famous characters, there would certainly be drama on the Eurovision stage.

7. Staging - Ridley Scott
Perhaps a forgotten Geordie, Oscar and BAFTA award winning director Ridley Scott is from South Shields. The list of blockbuster films that Scott has directed include Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator and House of Gucci. The main is a serial award-winner and our staging would be impeccable with him as director.

8. Dancing - Cheryl
Of course the nation’s sweetheart had to make our ultimate Geordie Euroision contestant. Pop star Cheryl could provide some vocals, but we think she might be better suited completing our Eurovision star with her dance moves. Not only is dancing a skill perfected whilst in Girls Aloud, but she’s also one of the judges on BBC dance competition The Greatest Dancer, so she knows what she’s doing here.
