The Christmas holidays usually last around two weeks across the whole of the UK, however dates often vary from council areas.
Most schools in Newcastle are expected to break up for Christmas on Friday 17 December 2021.
The return date for schools is Tuesday 4 January, 2022.

With reports of potential further Covid-19 restrictions making a return in light of the Omicron variant, there have been concerns these may change.
Face masks were brought back into schools, public transports and shops last month in light of the Omicron variant.
However, government officials have so far ruled out closing schools early ahead of Christmas.

Hide AdThe PM’s spokesperson stated that the Government will not close schools unless it has ‘absolutely no choice’ but to shut them down.
Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi reiterated this sentiment in a statement.
He promised to “continue to prioritise children’s and young people’s education and well-being, making sure education and childcare settings are as safe as possible and children continue to benefit from classroom teaching”.
