Former Geordie Shore star and Newcastle local Vicky Pattison is the latest celebrity to pour scorn on a viral message sent by controversial internet personality Andrew Tate to award-winning Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

Tate, who appeared on Big Brother in 2016, has come under the spotlight for his extremist views and faced a number of Twitter bans in the past. His account was restored last month when the social media platform was taken over by Elon Musk.

On December 27, Tate took to Twitter to contact environmentalist and former Time Person of the Year Thunberg to let the 19-year-old know about how many cars he has.

He wrote: "Hello @GretaThunberg. I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions."

Whilst Tate came under criticism for his random brag targetted at Thunberg, the teenager penned a brilliant response of her own.

Nearly 2.5 million people have liked Thunberg's reply that said: "yes, please do enlighten me. email me at [email protected]."

Users flocked to the comments to say "and there was me thinking 2022 had peaked" and "ironically, this burn is so big I’m worried about its carbon emissions".

One celebrity who had her say on the debacle was I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner and podcaster Vicky Pattinson. Writing on her Instagram story on Wednesday, the star said: "Why is this grown man messaging a young girl at all?????"

It comes after Pattison spent a loved-up Christmas with fiance Ercan Ramadan, sharing a heart-warming message to her partner online just after Christmas.

The Geordie star wrote: "And after I spent what felt like eternity drowning.. You taught me how to breathe. Happy Anniversary Ercan. I knew I loved you on our first date.. I remember sending this photo to me lasses group chat and telling them to buy a hat. I knew even then what we had was going to be special.

"I can't believe it's been four years of loving you already... It's absolutely flown over! There is literally no one else in the world I would rather do life with and I know sometimes we get on each other's t*** but I love you."
