It was another astonishing night in an increasingly remarkable season for Newcastle United.
For only the second time in their history, the Magpies will face a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final after goals from Dan Burn and Bruno Guimaraes helped Eddie Howe’s men to a deserved win over Premier League rivals Leicester City. There were some nervy moments throughout the game but United kept their cool and secured their place in Wednesday night’s last-four draw.
The win has Magpies supporters dreaming of a first ever cup final appearance at the new Wembley as they prepare for their club’s first semi-final appearance in any competition since a 4-1 defeat against Manchester United in the last four of FA Cup in 2005.
The Gallowgate faithful more than played their part as they roared on their side throughout the win over the Foxes - and they helped produce some images that will bring a smile to the face of United supporters.
