Hide AdThe Magpies' summer business has been brought into sharp focus in recent weeks after a season of ups and downs. And without doubt, head coach Eddie Howe will want to ensure he has the squad depth to attack a campaign on at least three fronts, maybe four depending on European qualification.
Howe's side have fallen short at key times this season due to a lack of options as injuries have hit hard with Newcastle playing in not only the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, but also making their Champions League return for the first time in two decades.
As a result, the squad is in need of some TLC and Newcastle fans are hoping for a busy summer following a quiet January, where Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) restricted their spending power.

Hide AdStaveley is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this week and spoke at the inaugural Bloomberg Power Players summit. In a wide range of topics, the Ripon-born businesswoman was asked about the upcoming transfer and whether Newcastle would be making any "big signings".
She, however, remained tight lipped, saying: "I'm not sure, you'll have to come back and see how we do in the next few months. I'm not sure, I'm not sure what we'll be doing on transfers at the moment."
But Staveley did say: “You have to make sure you make sensible decisions in terms of the transfer window, keep to your FFP constraints and try to do things that innovate and push outside the box because that’s the only way we’re going to engage our fanbase and grow the club.

Everyone is very much involved in the day to day running of the club. It’s a very competitive market in terms of players and rules around that, so you have to be very focused."
