Emile Smith Rowe is on the verge of leaving Arsenal for Premier League counterparts Fulham after the two clubs agreed a fee on Monday.

The 24-year-old will now leave Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States to undergo his medical and finalise his switch before linking up with the Cottagers in Portugal.

The former Huddersfield Town loanee is understood to have been tracked by Newcastle over the last 12 months, while Crystal Palace have also shown interest.

Smith Rowe, who had also been attracting interest from Crystal Palace this summer, will now undergo a medical with Fulham and finalise personal terms before joining the club’s pre-season tour in Portugal.

The midfielder is a boyhood Arsenal fan and a product of their academy. He featured regularly during the 2021-22 campaign, making 37 appearances.

However since then, he managed just the same total in two years. Injuries have played a part but even when fit during the second half of last season, Smith-Rowe barely kicked a ball, playing just 346 Premier League minutes in total.

Smith Rowe will now hope to kick start his career and potentially return to the England set up after making his debut in 2021.
