Substitute Mykhailo Mudryk made it 3-1 after breezing into the penalty area. Jacob Murphy, who replaced the injured Anthony Gordon in the first-half, pulled one back for United via a stunning strike but Chelsea held out.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men moved one point behind Newcastle in 10th with a game in-hand as the race for European qualification, which also includes Manchester United, West Ham, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolves, hots up.
And proving his verdict on X, formerly known as Twitter, Reuben said: “Disappointed about the result but our supporters were tremendous once again @NUFC. Thank you and safe trip home”.
