Eddie Howe has confirmed Newcastle United are closing in on January signing number three.
However, the Magpies head coach refused to disclose if the player was indeed Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

United are finalising a move for the highly-rated Brazilian after striking a £33million deal with the French club on Thursday night.
Guimaraes is currently in South America on international duty, where it is hoped he can undergo his Newcastle medical.
The 24-year-old is expected to join Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood on Tyneside with the transfer hopefully finalised over the weekend.

Howe revealed he was close to adding a player to his playing squad, but said it would be “foolish” to say who it is.
‘We’re getting closer’
Howe, speaking from Saudi Arabia, said: “Nothing on individual players but we are hopeful we’re getting closer to completing a transfer for a player.

“We’ll try and give you that update as soon as we have it but fingers crossed we’re close to getting one over the line.”
Then, the question was asked, is it Guimaraes?
Howe responded: “You can guess but certainly there will be no confirmation from me, it would be foolish of me to do so.
