Eddie Howe has provided an update on Joelinton after the Brazilian was stretchered off during the 2-1 win at Burnley.
Joelinton, Newcastle United’s player of the season, departed on 11 minutes and was replaced by Jacob Murphy.

The 25-year-old left Turf Moor wearing a protective boot but Howe encouragingly revealed the midfielder was in good spirits.
Howe said: “It didn’t look good. I could see by the way he went down, I thought ‘this could be serious’.
“Apparently, it’s a deep laceration. I think the doctor, initially when he saw him, could see part of his bone, so I think it was quite deep.

“We knew immediately we had to withdraw him, but he’s in good spirits in the dressing room.
“He had a boot on, and said he was OK, so that’s great news.”

United didn’t let Joelinton’s withdrawal affect them as Callum Wilson struck twice in a 2-1 win.
Maxwel Cornet pulled a goal back in the second-half but the Clarets’ defeat meant they were relegated from the Premier League.
Newcastle, meanwhile, ended the season in 11th position on 49 points, despite not winning any of their opening 14 games.
