Everton are set to have Dominic Calvert-Lewin available for Saturday afternoon’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

Calvert-Lewin hasn’t featured for Sean Dyche’s side since picking up a hamstring injury at the start of February in a 1-0 home victory over Arsenal.

Ten games later and the 26-year-old is finally set to make his return this weekend after playing 65 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game against National League North outfit Chester on Tuesday.

Calvert-Lewin was among eight first-team stars to feature, including Yerry Mina, Conor Coady, Nathan Patterson, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies, Ellis Simms and Mason Holgate, as Dyche’s men suffered a 1-0 defeat.

Asked about Calvert-Lewin after the 3-1 loss to Fulham last Saturday, Dyche said: “Dom’s going well which is a positive,” Dyche said. ‘He’ll be back hopefully in the thinking this week as long as the week goes well.

“He’s had a very good week this week and we want him to have another very good week next week and then we’ll see how he’s feeling.”

Everton visit Selhurst Park before hosting Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Thursday (April 27).

The Toffees are joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League (24) alongside relegation rivals Southampton and Nottingham Forest.

Calvert-Lewin scored 21 goals during the 2020-21 campaign but has made just 26 top-flight appearances since due to a series of injuries.

Further minutes against Palace this weekend could put the 11-capped England international in a position to start against Eddie Howe’s side next Thursday.
