After a disappointing run of results in the Premier League and cup competitions, the focus of Newcastle United fans in January is the chance for the club to add strength in depth to an injury-ridden Magpies squad.
However, Newcastle United will also have to spend time on internal negotiations with a number of first-team players currently poised to leave Tyneside on a free deal in the summer with their contracts coming to an end. Those stars include starting XI regulars, familiar faces from recent campaigns and young talents.
The Magpies have already worked to keep talisman Callum Wilson at the club with a contract extension announced in September, while Eddie Howe has already spoken out about his plans for his club captain Jamaal Lascelles. NewcastleWorld looks at the players currently out of contract come the end of the season.
