Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to reaching an agreement to sign Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.

Dragusin - a product of the Juventus academy - has been at Genoa for 18 months. Last season, the 21-year-old was a key part of the side that won promotion to Serie A and has maintained his good form in Italy's top-flight.

In 2023-24, Dragusin has made 19 league appearances and scored twice as Genoa sit 12th in the table, seven points above relegation. But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Romanian is set to depart mid-season.

Romano claimed last week that Dragusin had agreed personal terms with Spurs. In his latest update on Sunday night, the Italian says a transfer fee is close to being finalised.

"Understand Tottenham had new positive contacts with Genoa for Radu Dragusin deal," Romano posted on X. "Deal advancing to final stages of the negotiations.

"Spurs hope to get the deal done next week as talks continue, it’s all on verbal proposals waiting for the final, official bid."

Dragusin has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months after his agent claimed to have held talks with Newcastle UnitedArsenal and Spurs.

"I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams," Florin Manea told Romanian outlet Fanatik.

"We are getting closer. I spoke with Newcastle, with Arsenal, with Tottenham. I also have messages with them, conversations. There are teams that ask [about Dragusin].

"I want to say that 100% by next summer, Radu will play in a not strong, very strong club! In the top 10 in the world. He wants to be in the Premier League, but know that Milan like him a lot. They must first come to terms with Genoa, that their claims are very high.

"We have a contract extension offer on the table. We understood each other, but we said that if a club comes, which, if we like it, we want to leave and leave us for around 30 million euros."
