Stars including Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes impressed against Aston Villa earlier this month and will be hoping to lead a bounce back to winning ways after defeat at the Etihad Stadium to Manchester City last weekend.

Forgotten Newcastle United midfielder is highly-wanted man

Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden is a 'top target' for a handful of Championship sides in the final couple of weeks of the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old is a forgotten man at St James' Park having been frozen out the side and spent last season on loan at Norwich City in the Championship, although endured a campaign hampered by injuries.

Hayden is deemed surplus to requirements on Tyneside and that has intrigued a number of second-tier sides according to Football Insider.

Newcastle United have invested in eight promising teenagers to be the future of the club by bolstering the academy.

Eddie Howe has had a busy summer transfer window improving the first team and now the Magpies have turned attention to the club's youth ranks and invested in the future.

Newcastle United confirmed today that Aidan Harris, Anthony Munda, Joe Brayson, Thomas Bryant, Luke Craggs, Adam Harrison, Sean Neave and Logan Watts have all been offered scholarships after leaving school.

The club added: "Academy Director Steve Harper welcomes the new under-17 scholars and looks forward to working with them and helping them develop over the next two years."
