Four players that could join Newcastle United in the January transfer window - and five that won’t

There are just over two weeks left in the January transfer window - so could we see more movement within Eddie Howe’s squad.

It has been a relatively quiet January transfer window for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United.

There has been just one signing after Australian youngster Garang Kuol formally completed his move to St James Park after the Magpies agreed a deal with A-League club Central Coast Mariners back in September. However, the forward’s development will be continued at Tynecastle, rather than Tyneside, after he joined Scottish club Hearts on loan until the end of the season.

There have been further loan deals completed after Joe White and Dan Langley joined Exeter City and Spennymoor Town respectively and Mexican forward Santiago Munoz has returned to Santos Laguna after his loan spell with United drew to a rather low-key conclusion.

But could we see any incoming signings over the next fortnight as the Magpies look to build on the momentum they have built up to force themselves into becoming a genuine contender for a place in European competition next season? NewcastleWorld assesses which players could move to Tyneside this month and gaves a take on those that probably will not be wearing black and white any time soon.
