Sandro Tonali’s move to Newcastle United is all but confirmed with reports that he has completed and passed his medical.
But it’s not just United fans who are getting excited by the prospect of the 23-year-old joining the club, players are also starting to voice their approval.

Hide AdTonali is currently based in Cluj-Napoca with Italy under-21s competing at the European Championships. The midfielder claimed an assist in his side’s Group D opener against France on Thursday, which they narrowly lost 2-1.
The loss hasn’t dampened expectations, however, especially in Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles’ eyes.

A Newcastle United fan posted a photo of his son and the Magpie to Twitter last night, claiming the footballer confirmed the Toon signing.
‘My lad with our club captain in my local bar tonight. He asked Jamaal what he thought about us potentially signing Tonali… his reply was “he’s a great signing for us”… confirmed from within,’ he wrote.

While Tonali’s transfer is believed to be a done deal, it might be a while before we finally get a glimpse of the Italian in black and white.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted yesterday: ‘No announcement this weekend or beginning of next week for Sandro Tonali to Newcastle deal due to some technical formalities; but the agreement is done. #NUFC
“Newcastle project is perfect for Tonali, he will be key player for them”, his agent Riso says.’
