Inside look at luxury five-star Saudi Arabia hotel housing Newcastle United stars this week

Grand entrance halls, luxurious beds and classy restaurants are being made the most of by Newcastle United players when in Saudi Arabia.

Newcastle United stars and staff are swapping the streets of Darras Hall and Jesmond's Golden Triangle for the lofty heights of the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh in Saudi Arabia this week.

Eddie Howe and his side are making the most of the unprecedented break in the Premier League season to put in the hard miles ahead of returning to action against Leicester City on Boxing Day - although they have a cup clash with Bournemouth on December 21 to contend with before the league resumes.

The club have already touched down in Saudi Arabia and will be there until December 10 on the winter training camp, which comes after a successful trip in January.

Newcastle United is of course now intertwined with the Middle Eastern country, being 80% owned by a consortium of the Saudi Public Investment Fund - who controversially took over the reins at the club from Mike Ashley in October 2021, for whom there was little love lost after his underwhelming 14 years.

Speaking ahead of the latest trip to Saudi Arabia, Eddie Howe said: "The break for the World Cup gives us the opportunity for a mini pre-season ahead of a crucial part of the season, and I'm pleased to have finalised our plans. Our trip to Jeddah in January was pivotal for us last season. It galvanised the group, and the hard work the players put in was rewarded in performances and results on our return.

"We will have access to world-class facilities as refurbishments at our own training ground continue, and we look forward to facing Al-Hilal and playing in front of our growing numbers of supporters in the region."
