Key Newcastle United duo at risk of Premier League ban heading into Chelsea & West Ham
Newcastle United travel to Chelsea in the Premier League this evening (kick-off 8pm) - and Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon continue to walk a disciplinary tightrope.
The pair are at risk of a two-match Premier League suspension with Guimaraes on nine yellow cards and Gordon on eight. As per league rules, 10 cautions before matchday 32 results in that exact punishment.

Hide AdGuimaraes has avoided a booking in the last six matches since picking up his ninth yellow card in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City in January. But while the Brazilian has stayed out the referee's book, he still has to avoid a caution in each of Newcastle's next five league games.
"I think he's managed [the threat of suspension] really well so far and has been his normal self," Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said recently. He hasn't, for me, looked like it's conscious in his mind when he's playing because I don't think it can be. He's played with discipline and done a great job for the team."
Meanwhile, Gordon has been on eight yellow cards since the 3-1 win at Aston Villa on January 30. Gordon was the first Newcastle player to serve a one-match ban for reaching the five yellow cards threshold this season before Guimaraes followed. Kieran Trippier also served the same ban.
The threshold started at five yellow cards in 19 games but extending to 10 in 32.

Callum Wilson and Sven Botman have been booked twice while Miguel Almiron, Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento, Matt Ritchie, Matt Targett, Lewis Hall, Lewis Miley, Jacob Murphy and Martin Dubravka all have one Premier League booking each.
After Chelsea, Newcastle travel to Manchester City in the quarter finals of the FA Cup before hosting West Ham in the Premier League after the international break.
