Liam Kennedy’s player ratings as Newcastle United star is given three after Man City defeat
Liam Kennedy’s Newcastle United player ratings from the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle United have faced the Premier League top two in the space of eight days - and haven’t laid a glove on either.
Heading to the Etihad Stadium following the 1-0 home defeat at Liverpool, it got much worst against Manchester City.
A brace from Raheem Sterling and goals from Aymeric Laporte and Rodri inflicted a 5-0 loss on Eddie Howe’s Magpies.
Next up, Arsenal. Another team vying for the Champions League places before United round off the campaign away to Burnley.
Here, Liam Kennedy dishes out his Newcastle player ratings from a difficult afternoon in Manchester:

1. Martin Dubravka - 5
Will be very disappointed with the second goal, but could do little about any of the others. A dip after his season-best show v Liverpool last weekend.

2. Emil Krafth - 5
Given all kinds of headaches by the roaming Jack Grealish and is likely to see his place taken by Kieran Trippier next week, although he didn’t cope that much better with his England teammate. Photo: Stu Forster

3. Jamaal Lascelles - 6
Actually performed pretty well in the back four that conceded five. Was a big threat with attacking set pieces and but for an unfortunate Bruno Guimaraes block, would have netted on the day. Photo: Stu Forster

4. Dan Burn - 5
Was good with the ball but all at sea without it. Was hardly helped by the fact the man outside him - Matt Targett - was barely in the same postcode.
