Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been linked with Paraguay international Ramon Sosa

Newcastle United target Ramon Sosa has the same agent as Miguel Almiron - and is eyeing a Premier League move.

Several top-fight clubs have been linked with the 24-year-old, who has three caps for Paraguay. Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle have reportedly kept tabs on his situation as he eyes a move from Talleres.

Sosa has two years remaining on his current deal and is understood to have a £16million release clause. Financial wriggle room is tight due to FFP/PSR restrictions and the Paraguayan could provide a low-cost option out wide.

Daniel Campos, who also represents Almiron, has revealed he tried pitching Sosa to Chelsea and the player is hellbent on a Premier League switch. He told ABC Cardinal: “We spoke to Chelsea and they told us about that possibility (loan to Racing Strasbourg). The sporting director told us that Ramon Sosa is not a priority, but there are other clubs interested.

“We remain firmly committed to one of the clubs moving forward in the coming days. The player has a dream of the Premier League, and we have been working on it for years. The amounts (transfer fee) are handled by Talleres, but it is close to what the termination (clause) is. The start of negotiations could take place before the Copa América.”

Campos recently claimed English and Saudi Arabian clubs are chasing Almiron but Newcastle do not want to sell. He said: “Other Premier League clubs have asked about him but Newcastle don’t want to sell him. The Saudi Arabian market is (also) hovering there. There may be news but he is comfortable (at Newcastle United).”
