A Newcastle United fan seems to have posted a Miguel Almiron injury update after spotting the Newcastle star at Heathrow Airport.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Kevin Simpson tweeted: ‘Flight changed by BA bumped into this chap in Heathrow, fit and ready for the weekend.’

Almiron was previously thought to be out of action for six weeks with a thigh injury.

Eddie Howe confirmed this after Newcastle United’s 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

He said: “Miggy pulled a thigh muscle in training and it’s, unfortunately, it’s quite a bad one. It’ll be six weeks.”

It was also because of this injury he wasn’t selected for the Paraguay national team during the international break.

However since Howe confirmed Almiron’s strain, the winger has been active on Instagram documenting his training and recovery.

While the squad were either away on international duty or in Dubai at the NUFC warm weather camp, Miggy was back at the Benton training ground.

In posting various photos and videos of him running and on an exercise bike he has left fans hopeful he won’t be out for as long as initially feared.

Whilst there has been no official fitness update since Howe’s at City Ground, people are convinced Miggy‘s recovery is moving in the right direction.
