As pre-season training approaches, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding St James’ Park.

Nelson interest

Newcastle are said to be interested in a move for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

Football Transfers report Newcastle have contacted Nelson’s representatives to find out whether the winger is available this summer. Nelson is officially a free agent after seeing his Arsenal contract expire, but it has been reported that talks over a new deal are ongoing. Nelson contributed in some key moments for Arsenal last season, and Mikel Arteta is said to be keen to keep him around.

But opportunities are likely to be few and far between next season given the presence of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Sako, so there may be an opportunity for Newcastle to convince Nelson.
