Newcastle United co-owner ends 49-day 'silence' with message to supporters

But rather than hail the performance, Reuben - when taking to X after the game - preferred to pay tribute to the travelling Newcastle supporters who made the 570-mile round trip to East Anglia just days before Christmas.

“Really great performance under difficult conditions,” said the Newcastle co-owner, making reference to the heavy rain in the first-half. “Thank you to the travelling @NUFC supporters for what I know is a very long way to travel. Up the Mags!”

Reuben has been rather quiet on social media of late with his last post coming after the 1-0 win over Arsenal on November 2.

Newcastle next play on Boxing Day when they host Aston Villa and Reuben may be in attendance, as he often is at St James’ Park.

The British businessman has held a stake in Newcastle since October 2021, which increased from 10% to 15% in the summer after RB Sports & Media and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia acquired Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s remaining shares.
