Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott. The Toon Army are reportedly interested in signing the Championship ace.

According to a report by The Sun, Eddie Howe’s side are ‘considering’ a swoop in the summer as they look to bolster their midfield department. However, fellow Premier League sides such as Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Crystal Palace are also in the frame for his signature.

Newcastle could see the highly-rated teenager as one for the future at St James’ Park. He has caught the eye in the Football League over recent times and is under contract at Ashton Gate until June 2025.

Scott, 19, signed for Bristol City back in 2020 from non-league side Guernsey and he has since made 75 appearances for the Robins in all competitions, chipping in with five goals. He has played 33 times this term for Nigel Pearson’s side and they are currently 12 games unbeaten at the moment.

They will face a battle to keep hold of him in the next transfer window though amid interest from some top flight sides. Newcastle are one of them and would have to bat away competition from some league rivals if they were to lure him to the North East.
