Newcastle United fans send cheeky transfer message to Bruno Guimaraes’ Brazilian teammate

Lyon star Lucas Paqueta has bid an emotional farewell to Bruno Guimaraes following his transfer to Newcastle United.

And cheekily, some Magpies fans have urged the attacking midfielder to join his Brazilian teammates at St James’ Park in the near future.

Guimaraes, chased by some of the top clubs in Europe, joined United in a deal worth £33.5million plus adds-on after two years in France.

And during that time, Guimaraes struck up an incredible bond with fellow countryman Paqueta, with the duo recognised as two of the best players in Ligue 1.

The pair represented Brazil together in their latest round World Cup qualifiers and perhaps unusually for Paqueta, he returned to Lyon alone.

Posting his goodbye on Twitter, Paqueta said: “Thank you for the friendship, laughter, and all the times we had together!

“I’ll miss you so much, but I’ll be here rooting for your success! You will be forever in my heart.

“May you make your dreams come true, go and shine! I love you buddy and see you later @brunoog97.”

Paqueta also took to Instagram said: “I think without your friendship, I wouldn’t be where I am today!

“You deserve everything you’ve been through!”

Guimaraes responded to Paqueta on both platforms, but it was Twitter that sparked Newcastle fans into action.

After tweeting, “I love you!! We will always be together brother... I miss you already, break everything as usual and see you soon,” some supporters sent a light-hearted transfer message to Paqueta.

@NUFC_Gallowgate said “Come and join him at #NUFC”, while @KeithFenwick10 replied “your welcome to join him anytime.”
