Loris Karius has hinted at an unexpected career change in a social media post amidst little game time at Newcastle United.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper is currently the Magpies' third-choice stopper making just one competitive appearance for the club in their Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester United.

Karius extended his stay in the north east at the end of last season when his short-term deal was extended by a further year.

It was thought the German would leave Newcastle in the summer but instead signed a new one-year deal and was named in Eddie Howe's squad for both the Premier League and Champions League.

But after the year is up, who knows? Karius hinted at a move to Italy where his partner Diletta lives with their newborn daughter.

He told Corriere della Sera in September: “It (a move to Italy) is a possible solution, which I consider. It could happen in the future. As a child I followed Inter, Milan and Juve matches on TV. But I don’t want to move only based on Aria and Diletta. I’m waiting for a good job opportunity.

“Most of the time we (Karius and his family) are distant, of course. We talk a lot on the phone, we make video calls with FaceTime. Diletta comes to visit me as soon as she can, but it’s not easy. Our plan is to be together for the rest of our lives.”

But now the stopper has hinted at a complete career change. For part of the international break, Karius has been in Dubai with his family enjoying some time off and yesterday he posted a photo of him in a recording studio to his social media.

Sharing it to his Instagram story, the image shows him sitting in front of the recording booth and mixing desk.

So a significant career change could be on the horizon for the Newcastle United man. And I'm sure every United supporter is dying to hear his music.
