Newcastle United have 'looked' at Leeds United and Leicester City target amid winger interest

Midfielder eyed

Newcastle have ‘looked’ at Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley along with Leeds United and Leicester City, as per a report by the Chronicle Live. The 23-year-old, who is a Denmark international with two caps under his belt so far in his career, appears to be a man in-demand heading into the upcoming transfer window and the Hoops could face a battle to keep hold of him.

O’Riley moved up to Glasgow back in 2022 having previously been on the books at Fulham and MK Dons. He has since become a key player at Celtic Park and has scored 27 goals in 118 games in all competitions to date.

Winger wanted by new boys

Speaking on The Fully Loaded Transfer Show, reporter Ben Jacobs has suggested that Ipswich Town are interested in landing Newcastle winger Miguel Almiron. The Tractor Boys are preparing for life in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship under Kieran McKenna.

Jacobs has said: “I’m told that there is Premier League interest in Almiron as well and Ipswich may be one to watch.

“Ipswich’s number one priority would be to bring in Omari Hutchison from Chelsea, but you just don’t know, things could change. With Almiron and Ipswich, that one is one to watch.”

Almiron has been playing his football in the North East since 2019 after moving over from Atlanta United in America. He has found the net on 30 occasions in 209 matches so far.
