Youngster on radar

Newcastle are apparently interested in Manchester City youngster Kian Breckin. According to the Daily Mail, the North East side are ‘keeping an eye’ on him and will provide ‘competition’ with Leeds United to land the 19-year-old this summer.

He remains under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2025 but his chances of breaking into the first-team under Pep Guardiola are slim due to the abundance of top quality options they have in his position. He has been on the books of the current top flight table toppers since the age of 11 but his long-term future at the club is currently up in the air.

Midfielder eyed

The Daily Mail also claim that Newcastle are ‘keen’ to lure midfielder Conor Gallagher at the end of this campaign. The England international was linked with the Toon Army during the January transfer window and could find himself back on Howe’s radar.

Gallagher, 23, may well leave Stamford Bridge depending what soon-to-be Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino decides to do with him. He has been with the London club for his whole career to date and has made 42 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals, and has also had loan spells away at Stamford Bridge at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Brom and most recently Crystal Palace to get some experience.
