Newcastle United linked with £15m winger transfer as Eddie Howe makes 'very careful' admission
Newcastle head into the final two days of the summer transfer window hoping to sign at least one player. The Magpies have had four bids rejected for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi but talks are ongoing amid suggestions a £70million package is being discussed.

In the last week, Trippier has been linked with Everton, while Fulham are showing interest in Almiron, as per talkSPORT.
Asked about Trippier again, Howe, speaking after the Carabao Cup penalty shootout win over Nottingham Forest, said: "I don't want to weaken the squad. We are looking to do business the other way and not lose our best players."

“Honestly, I’ve got no idea,” said Howe. “I certainly wouldn’t want to be losing too many players without replacing them, if any. Our squad isn’t deep as people would expect so we’ve got to be very careful before letting players go.”
Newcastle and Almiron held talks with MLS side Charlotte FC earlier this month but an agreement couldn’t be reached. It’s understood United are willing to let the Paraguayan go for around the £15m mark.

On potential incomings, Howe said after the Forest win: “I’ve got no update for you, I know nothing from today as I’ve been concentrating on the game. But of course, yeah. I’ll find out what’s happening afterwards.”
