Newcastle United issue official reason why Anthony Elanga misses Leeds United clash
Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga is available for the Premier League trip to Leeds United.
Newcastle United are without Anthony Elanga for tonight’s Premier League clash away to Leeds United (8pm kick-off).
Elanga came off the bench during last week’s 1-0 win at Millwall in the Carabao Cup third round but was expected to return to the starting line-up having started every Premier League match so far.
However, the 24-year-old hasn’t travelled to Elland Road after picking up an injury. It comes as a huge blow to Matthias Jaissle, with Elanga scoring twice in his opening three league matches.

Jacob Murphy, whom Jaissle fought to keep in the summer amid interest from Nottingham Forest, continues on the right wing for his first Premier League start of the campaign.

There is, however, an injury boost for Jaissle with Amar Dedic passed fit to continue at right-back. The Bosnian was forced off at half-time against Millwall due to a hamstring injury but has made a swift recovery.
Jaissle has made three changes to his starting line-up, with £51million summer signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo handed his full debut, coming in for Joe Willock.
Meanwhile, Malick Thiaw returns to the backline and takes the captain’s armband as Fabian Schar makes way, while Lewis Miley is preferred to Jacob Ramsey in midfield.
