Newcastle United suffered their first defeat of the season with a 4-1 hammering away to Leeds United.
The Whites went into half-time leading 3-0 following an own goal from Lewis Miley and goals from Jayden Bogle and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Noah Okafor then added a fourth on the hour mark.
Substitute Bazoumana Toure pulled one back in the 90th minute for his second goal in two games for the Magpies.
£51million summer signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo made his full debut as Matthias Jaissle named three changes from the 1-0 win at Millwall in the Carabao Cup last week.
Fernandez-Pardo came in for Joe Willock in attack as Malick Thiaw returned to the defence to captain the side in place of Fabian Schar, while Jacob Ramsey made way for Lewis Miley in midfield.
Amar Dedic was passed fit, despite coming off at half-time at The Den with a hamstring issue. However, Jaissle was dealt another injury blow as Anthony Elanga missed out through injury.
Newcastle suffered a further blow midway through the first half when Nico Gonzalez was forced to withdraw following a bang to the head. Sean Steur came on.
And Steur was involved in both of Leeds’ quick-fire goals. Ao Tanaka’s shot deflected off the Dutchman and Miley, which left Lukas Hornicek beaten. Two minutes later, Steur then sold his pass short to Harvey Barnes as the ball found its way out right for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to head home the cross.
Leeds had their tails up and managed to add a third on the brink of half-time. Jacob Murphy lost out to Tarik Muharemovic and the ball made its way to Calvert-Lewin, who got the better of Sven Botman to finish into the bottom right corner.
Jaissle made a triple substitution in the 58th minute when Bazoumana Toure, Joe Willock and Tino Livramento came on for Murphy, Fernandez-Pardo and Dedic but a minute later, Leeds added a third through Noah Okafor.
Toure gave the away supporters something to cheer late on when he made it 4-1.
