Newcastle United players ratings gallery: ‘Unsung hero’ gets 9/10 in Manchester United draw
Newcastle United player ratings from the 0-0 draw against Manchester United.
Newcastle United settled for a point against Manchester United with a fully committed display at Old Trafford.
The point means the Magpies have lost just one of their opening 10 games and remain sixth in the league table
Eddie Howe made one enforced change from the side that beat Brentford last weekend with Joelinton coming in for Joe Willock.
The Brazilian oversaw United’s best chances of the afternoon with successive headers, one that cannoned off the crossbar and another that hit the post.
Man United piled on the pressure late on but Howe’s side will be delighted with a draw.
Here’s our writer Jordan Cronin’s player ratings from the goalless draw at Old Trafford:

1. Nick Pope - 7
Strong save with his feet to deny Antony in the first-half but an otherwise quiet afternoon with the defenders in front of him a rock.

2. Kieran Trippier - 8
In recent weeks, we’ve hailed the creative side to Trippier’s game, and while that continued in parts, this was a top defensive performance.

3. Fabian Schar - 9
In the wars at Stretford End. Faced up to Ronaldo, who had very minimal chances. Then dealt with Rashford’s pace inside the final 20 minutes. An unsung hero today.

4. Sven Botman - 8
Ruffled a few feathers on the Old Trafford pitch in fully committed challenges against Antony and Rashford. Another quality display.
