The France U21 international is regarded as one of the most exciting wingers in English football. Last season he fired in an impressive 10 goals and six assists from 19 Premier League games - including a terrific double in a shock 4-0 victory against Manchester United.

In the season prior to that he registered two goals from 37 appearances, but showcased his excellent creativity with 11 assists. Olise’s form for Crystal Palace since his arrival from Reading in 2021 has gone from strength to strength and many were surprised to see that he wasn’t included in either the French squad or the England national team for Euro 2024 due to his eligibility for both nations.

The 22-year-old is renowned for his excellent agility and ability to dribble in tight spaces. His range of passing has also been lauded by pundits and many see him as the player who takes Palace to the next level when he is fully fit.

Olise, who can play as No 10 or out wide, still has bags of potential which prompted Palace to offer him a new and improved contract last summer after interest from Chelsea.

That new deal that he signed, is understood to include a £60m release clause, meaning Newcastle would need to equal their club-record fee to prise him away from Selhurst Park.

Potential Newcastle recruit could receive triple-the-amount of wages

Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer. The Manchester City academy graduate has been a standout performer at Craven Cottage for several seasons and has won plaudits for his consistency in the Fulham backline.

Adarabioyo is seen as the ideal answer to Newcastle’s injury issues, with Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles both set for lengthy spells on the sidelines in pre-season and beyond.

The 26-year-old’s arrival on a free transfer represents shrewd business, though Football Insider understands that it is likely to take a huge wage hike of almost triple-the-money he was on at Fulham to get the deal done.
