A transfer rumour on Twitter has sent Newcastle United fans into an uproar after it was reported the club were willing to part ways with Bruno Guimaraes.
A La Liga Twitch account tweeted the Magpies offered up the Brazilian alongside 30m euros for Barcelona star Raphinha. The news comes as a surprise considering the winger hit out at the “lies” he was open to leaving his club in the summer.

Responding to the speculation last month, the former Leeds man said: “Lies. The person who said this is a liar and uninformed.”
He then added: “Okay, [they] deleted my comment because lie once again. This is a lie and whoever said it is an uninformed liar and not professional. If my comment is deleted, I will post it on my instagram.”
So, naturally, rumours Newcastle were offering up the beloved Guimaraes for a player who had no intention of leaving was met with some backlash among Toon fans.

‘Be an absolute riot if we sold Bruno,’ said one fan, while another commented: ‘What an absolute load of garbage.’

La Liga supporters also weren’t convinced, with Geordies’ love for the midfielder reaching far and wide. ‘I don’t believe Newcastle offer their best player for Raphinha, and also 30M € ,’ suggested one fan.
It’s easy to gather the consensus is Bruno is worth so much more than that: ‘I think there are few people in the world foolish enough to believe that this is true. Bruno is worth more money than Raphinha, imagine giving 30 million in addition’ added another.
The rumour comes in the midst of Barcelona’s financial struggles with Financial Fair Play. LaLiga has ordered the club to lower their wage bill by £177m which has sparked speculation about the stars who could depart.
However, reports expect Newcastle will announce a new contract for Guimaraes any day now, with the midfielder committed to the Magpie cause.
