A fed-up West Ham star Michail Antonio has sent Newcastle United a warning over 'karma' ahead of the Magpies' long trip to Bournemouth this weekend.

The Hammers striker made the most of Callum Wilson's absence from this week's BBC Sounds' Footballers Football Podcast to have a jibe at Newcastle United when asked for his predictions ahead of the weekend.

Antonio spent a large part of this week's podcast complaining about VAR alongside host Rickie Haywood-Williams. The two were almost as bewildered as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta that Eddie Howe's side hadn't seen their winner against the Gunners chalked off.

Previewing this weekend's Premier League action, Antonio said: "The way Newcastle have been playing lately, it's unbelievable, everything has been dropping their way. I'm going to get the Toon fans after me, there needs to be a blip somewhere and it could be this weekend.

"They can't win all the games, there are swings and roundabouts and there has to be some karma coming somewhere because that shouldn't have been a goal."

Antonio had his back up against VAR once again after also feeling aggrieved that it had not intervened in his side's defeat to Brentford last weekend. The Hammers man believed the Bees' second goal should have been disallowed for an offside in the run-up.

Giving his verdict on Anthony Gordon's controversial winner last week, Antonio said: "The fact there was three things they had to check. All three could have been a separate occasion. In my eyes, that is off the pitch. It looks more off than it does on so I don't understand where VAR has been looking at that, stopped it and gone, it's on.

"Then you go to the two hands on the back. Man is about to head the ball away and has two hands on his back, straight to the ground. It's not a little nudge, it's full force.

"The only thing that could be possibly tight is offside. That is a bit of a sticky one. The other two, I cannot believe it. The odds on that goal being given again at any stage in my life, I don't think so."
