Newcastle United summer departure confirmed as player issues 29-word farewell message

Several Newcastle United youngsters have played their last game for the club following Tuesday night’s Northumberland Senior Cup victory over Blyth Town.
The young Magpies lifted the trophy for the first time in six years in front of 1,887 supporters at St James’ Park as goals from Ben Parkinson and Amad Diallo cancelled out Dan Wilson’s strike.

Posting a picture of himself with the Northumberland Senior Cup, Crossley said on Instagram: “Last night was my last game for @nufc and what a way to finish it, just under 5 years at the club making some great memories along the way 🖤🤍#nufc.”
The 19-year-old made 20 appearances for the academy across the 2023-24 campaign, appearing in Premier League 2, the EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League. He scored seven goals in total, including a brace in the 3-2 win over Sunderland under-21s.
As mentioned, Crossley - who made his U21s debut aged 16 - is one of several youngsters set to be released, including Lucas De Bolle, Dylan Stephenson and Diallo, who have all experienced first-team opportunities in recent seasons.
