Newcastle United will host Champions League nights at St James’ Park next season after fighting their way to their highest Premier League finish in 20 years. Eddie Howe guided his side to fourth place after banking 71 points and snubbing six-time European champions Liverpool of a qualifying spot.

With their new financial backing and signings like Alexander Isak having a huge impact, supporters both of the Magpies and neutrals will be expecting for this to be a new era moving forward, and for them to continuously be right up at the top end of the table.

So what are Newcastle’s odds of keeping up this form and qualifying for the Champions League again next season? Bookmakers have already released their odds for the favourites to finish in the top four in 2023/24, let’s take a look at where Newcastle are predicted to finish compared to their rivals.

The three sides who gained promotion from the Championship are naturally at the bottom of the list with the highest odds. Luton Town are in at 100/1, while Sheffield United are 80/1 and Burnley share 66/1 odds with Bournemouth.

This season’s relegation candidates Nottingham Forest and Everton are both 40/1 along with Fulham, despite the Cottagers finishing significantly higher than the other two. Ninth-placed Brentford are 25/1 and Wolves (13th) and Crystal Palace (11th) are both 20/1.

Although they had a troublesome season and finished 14th, West Ham have been tipped at 10/1 to be in the top four this time round, while Aston Villa are 8/1. Now we get to the more exciting predictions which, based on these odds, could see any combination of top four next season.

Brighton are in at 11/4, Spurs 9/4 and Chelsea 11/8, despite their disastrous run this term which saw them finish 12th after banking just 44 points. They also had one of the poorest goal returns of the season, with Leeds, Leicester and Crystal Palace all scoring more.

Now, we make our way into the fun zone of the top five — this year it was Liverpool, but who is tipped to be snubbed of Champions League next season? Unfortunately for Toon fans, it’s Newcastle at 6/5, despite their odds still being very low, while Manchester United are just ahead of them at 11/10.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have been listed as 5/6 to finish in the top four, which will be a big compliment for the Reds considering they finished 17 points behind the Gunners. And of course, reigning champions for the third consecutive season Manchester City are way out in front as favourites at 1/20.

Here’s a full list of the Premier League top four odds and how the 2023/24 season could potentially shape up.
