Nightmare continues as Newcastle United favourite suffers hamstring injury blow
A nightmare start at the Cumbrians saw the 33-year-old fail to make his maiden bow last weekend. Dummett was set to play against Bradford City but was involved in a car accident - ruling him out of the 1-0 defeat.
Former Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson, the Carlisle manager, threw the defender in a week later against Fleetwood Town. He started in a back three but was withdrawn after pulling up while holding his hamstring.

“Unfortunately today, that is football. But, you know, he’s experienced in there. He was on the bench. He was talking to lads and getting us through. I think his experience will still hold a lot of weight for us.”
Carlisle went on to win the game 2-1 courtesy of a late Samuel Levelle strike - a much-needed win that gives them a glimmer of hope. The Blues lifted from the bottom of the table but are still five points from safety.
The hamstring blow is the latest in a long line of setbacks for the Kenton native. Dummett has not played regularly since the 2018-19 campaign and viewed a drop down the division as the perfect chance for first-team football.
