Newcastle United talisman Callum Wilson will perform an iconic dance next time he scores, on the request of West Ham United forward Michail Antonio.

The two footballing friends host The Footballer's Football Podcast together and on last week's episode bantered about celebrations.

Wilson jibed at Antonio about his slow goalscoring start to the season after the Magpies man bagged two goals in the opening three fixtures.

The Hammers' forward and podcast co-host Ricky Haywood-Williams asked Wilson about his celebration, after his passionate response to netting against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City earlier this month.

It led to Antonio insisting that Wilson take some advice for a new celebration.

He joked: "Do the macarena with a nice little salute at the end."

Without giving it a second thought, Wilson replied: "No problem, done."

All eyes will be on the Newcastle United goalscorer to see if he follows through on his performance when the ball next hits the back of the net - although Wilson did joke that he might save the dance for any goals he nets against Antonio's side.

On the podcast, the two also talked about their feelings about swapping shirts after the match.

Wilson admitted it wasn't something he liked to engage with on the pitch, but said he did have an enviable collection of opposition numbers back at home.

He said: "I've got shirts... I've got Ronaldo, Rooney, Hazard, Aguero, some attacking players but they are more for my son.

"He'll ask me to get the shirts and I'll get them and keep them away or give them. He's 10 now so he's ecstatic when I come home with them.

"Personally, I don't ask to swap a shirt. It's a warzone out there and I'm not looking for that friendly mindset. I say to the kit man, 'my son would like this person's shirt after the game, would you mind asking the kit man for it?' We'll then often do an exchange off the pitch, out of the way near the dressing room."
